Not a browser game — the real thing

Most free browser shooters are small clones built for the web. This is Counter-Strike 1.6 itself: the game that defined the competitive FPS, running the original engine and netcode, against real people on real public servers.

The two classic modes

Bomb Defusal is the mode CS is known for: Terrorists plant the C4 on a de_ map, Counter-Terrorists stop them or defuse it. Hostage Rescue puts CTs on the attack, escorting hostages out on cs_ maps. Between them they are most of what you will find on a public server.

And everything the community built

Twenty-five years of servers produced far more than the official modes: instant-respawn Deathmatch and aim arenas for pure gunplay, Gun Game where every kill upgrades your weapon, Zombie survival, and the movement modes — Surf and Bunny Hop — that are basically their own sport.
